あらすじ
新宿・歌舞伎町。腕っぷしと人情で舎弟たちの信頼を集めるヤクザ、竜二（柳楽優弥)。まり子（川栄李奈)と出会い、息子を授かったことで「守るべきもの」を得た竜二は、裏社会に別れを告げる決意をする。酒屋の配達員として汗を流す、カタギとしての日々——決して楽ではないが、自ら選び取った、ささやかで穏やかな暮らしだった。だが、薬物に溺れた兄弟分・カズ（三宅健)、そして竜二にとってもう一つの家族である舎弟の直（萩原利久)とひろし（JUNON)との再会が、封印していたはずの過去を呼び覚ましていく——。
STORY
Shinjuku's Kabukicho. Ryuji (Yuya Yagira) is a yakuza whose physical strength and warmth have earned him the deep trust of his men. After meeting Mariko (Rina Kawaei) and having a son, Ryuji finds something to protect and decides to leave the underworld behind. He now lives as a katagi — a straight, law-abiding man — working hard as a deliveryman for a liquor store. It is not an easy life, but it is the simple and peaceful life he chose for himself. Then Ryuji reunites with Kazu (Ken Miyake), a sworn brother struggling with drug addiction, and with Nao (Riku Hagiwara) and Hiroshi (JUNON) — his former underlings, who are like another family to him. Their return brings back a past Ryuji thought he had sealed away.

1983年に公開され、時代を超えて語り継がれてきた伝説の名作『竜二』をリメイク。主演は、圧倒的な存在感と演技力で国内外から高い評価を受け続ける柳楽優弥。共演は、妻・まり子役に川栄李奈、竜二を慕う二人の弟分に萩原利久、JUNON（BE:FIRST）。さらに、田中美里、RYUKI、千原ジュニア、三宅健、伊藤英明ら、実力と華を兼ね備えたキャストが脇を固める。監督は、丁寧で繊細な人物描写と確かな演出力で数々の話題作を世に送り出してきた水田伸生。オリジナル映画へのリスペクトとともに、『RYUJI 竜二』としてリメイク。
INTRODUCTION
A remake of the legendary 1983 film RYUJI, passed down and beloved across generations, this new version stars Yuya Yagira, whose overwhelming presence and acting power have earned him continued acclaim in Japan and abroad. Rina Kawaei plays his wife Mariko, with Riku Hagiwara and JUNON (BE:FIRST) as the two young men who look up to Ryuji. The supporting cast — combining both talent and star quality — includes Misato Tanaka, RYUKI, Junior Chihara, Ken Miyake, and Hideaki Ito. Directed by Nobuo Mizuta, known for his sensitive, delicate character portrayals and steady directorial craftsmanship in numerous acclaimed films, RYUJI is a remake made with deep respect for the original.
