あらすじ
強い日差しが注ぎ込む夏の海。ビーチが似合わない夏男がひとりでたたずんでいると、影のある女・渚に出会う。何を語るでもなく、なんとなく散策するふたり。翌日、ふたりはまた浜辺で会う。台風が近づき大雨が降りしきる中、ふたりは海で泳ぐのだった……。 つげ義春の漫画を原作に李が脚本を書いた映画を大学の授業の一環で上映していた。上映後、学生との質疑応答で映画の感想を問われ、「私には才能がないな、と思いました」と答える李。 冬になり、李はひょんなことから訪れた雪荒ぶ旅先の山奥でおんぼろ宿に迷い込む。 雪の重みで今にも落ちてしまいそうな屋根。やる気の感じられない宿主、べん造。暖房もない、まともな食事も出ない、布団も自分で敷く始末。ある夜、べん造は李を夜の雪の原へと連れ出すのだった……。
STORY
On a summer day, a young man Natsuo, who doesn’t really fit the beach stands alone by the sea. There he meets a mysterious woman, Nagisa. Without saying much, they wander along the shore together. The next day, they meet again on the beach. As a typhoon approaches and heavy rain falls, the two of them end up swimming in the sea… Li, a screenwriter, adapted the manga by Yoshiharu Tsuge into a film, which was shown as part of a university class. After the screening, students asked her what she thought of the film, and Li replied, “I realized I have no talent.” In winter, by chance, Li ends up at an old, run-down gesthouse deep in the snowy mountains while traveling. The roof looks like it might collapse under the weight of snow. The owner, Benzou, seems unmotivated, there is no heating, meals are poor, and Li has to make her own bed. One night, Benzou takes Li out into the snowy night…
解説
『旅と日々』は、脚本家の李（シム・ウンギョン）が旅先でのべん造（堤真一）との出会いをきっかけに、人生と向き合っていく過程を李本人が綴っていく物語。ひっそりと身を寄せ合う登場人物たちが、やさしさと愛おしさあふれるまなざしで描かれる。 監督は、『ケイコ 目を澄ませて』（22）、『夜明けのすべて』（24）など、現代日本映画界を牽引する存在として世界的に注目を集める三宅唱。 本作は、第78回ロカルノ国際映画祭インターナショナル・コンペティション部門にて、最高賞である金豹賞とヤング審査員賞を受賞。金豹賞の受賞は、日本映画18年ぶりの快挙となる。
INTRODUCTION
It tells the story of Li (Shim Eun-kyung), a screenwriter, who reflects on life after meeting Benzou (Shinichi Tsutsumi) during her travels. The quietly connected characters are portrayed with warmth, kindness, and tenderness. The director, Sho Miyake, who also made Small, Slow But Steady (2022) and All the Long Nights (2024), is gaining international attention as a leading figure in contemporary Japanese cinema. This film won the top prize, the Golden Leopard, as well as the Youth Jury Award in the International Competition at the 78th Locarno International Film Festival.The Golden Leopard victory marked the first time in 18 years that a Japanese film received this honor.
